The Yogi government is providing an opportunity to link the state’s local culinary traditions with business, branding, and the market

Lucknow, October 06. After becoming the center of attraction at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) held in Greater Noida, the Yogi government’s significant initiative ‘One District, One Cuisine’ (ODOC) is now set to make its debut on the national stage. An ODOC stall will be set up for the first time at the 45th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2026, scheduled from November 14 to 27, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Here, through ODOC along with ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP), Uttar Pradesh’s local products, traditional cuisines, and rich culinary heritage will be presented to a domestic and global audience. Following the platform ODOC received at the International Trade Show in Greater Noida, its premiere at a prestigious national trade fair like IITF marks a crucial step toward expanding this initiative. This will provide an opportunity to connect Uttar Pradesh’s local culinary traditions with business, branding, and the market.

Branding of local flavors after products

Different districts of Uttar Pradesh have their own distinct identities and traditional cuisines. The concept of ODOC is based on the idea of providing global recognition, branding, and a market for these local dishes. While ODOP has so far emphasized connecting specific district products to national and international markets, ODOC is integrating local flavors and culinary traditions with the same broad economic perspective. Through the ODOC stall at IITF, this culinary diversity of the state will be displayed on an organized platform. This will give visitors, businessmen, investors, and potential buyers from various parts of the country an opportunity to learn about Uttar Pradesh’s local cuisines and related products.

ODOC alongside ODOP: The next step in ‘Local to Global’

Realizing Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Local to Global’ vision, the Yogi government is consistently focusing on providing markets, branding, and business opportunities for local products. ODOP is among the state’s flagship initiatives in this direction. Now, through ODOC, this very vision is being extended to the state’s culinary heritage. With the joint presence of ODOP and ODOC at IITF, both the products and flavors of Uttar Pradesh will be showcased on a single platform. This is expected to generate new markets and business prospects for local artisans, entrepreneurs, food vendors, and professionals in related sectors.

ODOC’s scope to expand in Delhi after Greater Noida

The International Trade Show in Greater Noida provided an opportunity to showcase Uttar Pradesh’s products on a large business platform. Following that success, ODOC is now being taken to Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This transition is also significant because ODOC is no longer advancing merely as a local state initiative but as a branding model connecting Uttar Pradesh’s cuisines with the national market.

UP’s culinary identity to reach domestic and international buyers

The India International Trade Fair is one of the premier business events in the country. ODOC’s first participation on such a platform will provide an opportunity to take Uttar Pradesh’s local cuisines and associated products to a much wider market. Through this, efforts will be made to link the state’s traditional culinary heritage with brands, markets, and economic opportunities, rather than keeping it confined to just cultural identity. Small entrepreneurs and businessmen associated with local flavors are also expected to reap the benefits of this initiative.
