- Engineers Who Performed Exceptionally Well Were Honored
Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav participated in the ‘State-Level Engineers’ Day Celebration’ held at the Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium in Bhopal on September 15. He inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp, followed by the singing of Vande Mataram. Engineers present at the event stated that the state government is making every possible effort for their welfare, and the public has benefited from government schemes. During the event, an MoU was signed between CSIR-AMPRI Bhopal and the Madhya Pradesh Public Works Department for infrastructure construction. This is a first-of-its-kind initiative in which roads will be constructed using fly ash-based cement.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that between the 19th and 20th centuries, all our talents were carving out different paths keeping the country in mind. Among them was the great personality Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, who lived a brilliant life alongside his engineering degree and created several renowned structures, each reflecting his vision. CM Dr. Yadav noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday is on September 17, and under his leadership, India has emerged as an economic power. Today, government departments are carving out a distinct identity with confidence. He added that the word “engineer” evokes the concept of an “engine”—something that operates with full strength and capability.
CM Dr. Yadav remarked that historic structures, grand buildings, tall spires, the Lord Kailash temple at Ajanta-Ellora, Dharmarajeshwar in Mandsaur, and divine statues remind us of our ancient art and skill. India’s first parliament drew inspiration from a location near Morena in the state, while the second parliament building constructed after independence drew inspiration from the Bijasan temple near Vidisha district. He said our creations are thousands of years old, concealing the artistic devotion of great personalities.
Innovation Coupled with Technology
CM Dr. Yadav congratulated the Public Works Department for its outstanding work. The department remembered Rani Durgavati, an epitome of good governance and bravery, who sacrificed herself for the country’s dignity and founded Jabalpur along the Narmada while conserving every single drop of water keeping the environment in mind. The PWD also remembered Samrat Vikramaditya, a symbol of good governance and team spirit, as well as Raja Bhoj, emphasizing that “old is gold.” CM Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the department is innovating alongside technology, raising its own funds to build infrastructure, which is a major achievement. The collaboration between PWD and CSIR-AMPRI will impart a new direction to infrastructure development. The Public Works Department is becoming the best department in the country, and the Madhya Pradesh government always stands ready to promote innovative ideas and works.
Engineering is the Solution to Problems
Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh stated that under the leadership of CM Dr. Yadav, all departments are scaling new heights of development, and the teamwork of PWD engineers plays a significant role in transforming the picture of development in Madhya Pradesh. Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya had said that engineering is not just a technique, but an ability to find solutions to problems. Our engineers go beyond problems and challenges to discover new paths. Guided by PM Modi’s vision of Developed India @2047, our engineers are creating better infrastructure across the country, and the Madhya Pradesh government leads the way in aligning with this vision. He stressed that we must not stop, but seek the path of solution. For engineers, an inquisitive nature, experience, and perfection matter the most, as engineers shape a country’s developmental dreams. The Bhaskaracharya Institute also plays a crucial role in this direction, having trained 85% of engineers across the state in the last 9 months. He mentioned CM Dr. Yadav’s resolve to establish an institute for engineering training in Bhopal. Today’s MoU with CSIR-AMPRI will also provide concrete road-building technology without cement. Government buildings in Madhya Pradesh will now be built using green building technology. Several states across the country have adopted the innovations of Madhya Pradesh PWD, which has changed its image through its working style.
