Ayodhya, October 5. Rows of lamps, brightly lit temples, and a spectacular display of faith on the banks of the Saryu river—Ayodhya is once again gearing up for a grand Deepotsav. Led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the 10th Deepotsav will be organized this year from November 5 to 7. Around 33 lakh (3.3 million) earthen lamps will be lit across a two-kilometer stretch, including Ram Ki Paidi. The administration and concerned departments have expedited preparations to give the event a grand and organized form. To ensure an uninterrupted glow of the lamps, 65 lakh wicks and 55,000 liters of oil are being arranged. Along with this, the process for procuring T-shirts for volunteers, candles, 150 kg of camphor, and other necessary materials for lighting the lamps has advanced. Five tenders have been issued regarding the event’s arrangements, which include diya materials, stage construction, decoration, and other essential logistics.
The grand splendor of lamps will be seen from Ram Ki Paidi to the Saryu banks
The grand Deepotsav will be organized this time as well by the Shri Ayodhya Ji Teerth Vikas Parishad. A special stage will be set up at Ram Ki Paidi, where cultural programs will be held. Ghats adorned with lamps and major temples bathed in light will further enhance the grandeur of Ayodhya Dham. Preparations for the LED decoration of major temples are also progressing. Special lighting arrangements will be made from the banks of the Saryu to various ghats. Decorated with lamps and lights, Ramnagari will present a picture of its cultural heritage and development along with faith.
34,000 volunteers will handle the responsibilities of Deepotsav
This time, 34,000 volunteers will play a crucial role in making Deepotsav a success. These volunteers will take care of lighting the lamps, maintaining smooth arrangements, and ensuring the convenience of devotees. Food and beverage arrangements are also being made for the 34,000 students participating in the event. This will give the younger generation an opportunity to connect with this grand event and become a part of Deepotsav.
Special focus on security, traffic, and cleanliness
Along with making this year’s Deepotsav grander and more organized than before, special attention is also being given to security, traffic, and cleanliness. Preparations for rows of lamps, floral decorations, and lighting are underway across a two-kilometer area. Organized under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, this Deepotsav is significant not only as a religious event but also for Ayodhya’s cultural identity and tourism. Considering the likelihood of millions of devotees and tourists arriving, emphasis is being placed on improving facilities.
Supply of materials will begin as soon as the tender process is completed
Jayendra Kumar, CEO of Ayodhya Ji Teerth Vikas Parishad, stated that the supply of essential materials will begin as soon as the tender process is completed. Preparations for the training of volunteers and food arrangements for students are also in their final stages. Deepotsav has now become the identity of Ayodhya, and it is discussed nationally and internationally every year. Amid preparations to give a more magnificent form to the 10th Deepotsav, Ramnagari is ready to shine with the light of 33 lakh lamps in November.
